Absolute Lymphocyte Count

Absolute lymphocyte count serves as a critical indicator of prognosis in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. Fillmore and his collaborators demonstrated that lymphopenia is associated with significantly shorter overall survival compared to patients with normal lymphocyte levels. These findings suggest that monitoring this biomarker may help clinicians identify high-risk patients and predict disease outcomes.
