Ankylosing Spondylitis

Research in this area has focused on the long-term musculoskeletal complications associated with ankylosing spondylitis, specifically the incidence of fractures. Fillmore and his collaborators identified a significant increase in fracture rates among veterans with the condition between 2000 and 2020. These data suggest that the introduction of tumor necrosis factor inhibitors has not mitigated the rising risk of fractures in this patient population.
