Fillmore has investigated the utility of hematologic and proteomic biomarkers to improve risk stratification and prognostic accuracy across oncology and neurology. His research demonstrates that specific plasma protein panels can predict venous thromboembolism in prostate cancer, while absolute lymphocyte, monocyte, and platelet counts serve as independent predictors of survival in multiple myeloma. Additionally, he has identified correlations between systemic inflammatory markers and Alzheimer's disease pathology and evaluated how age influences biomarkers of response to immune checkpoint therapy.
