Cancer Mortality

Fillmore and his collaborators have investigated the impact of healthcare delivery models on racial disparities in cancer mortality. Their research demonstrates that while Black patients face significantly higher mortality rates in the general United States population, these inequities are reversed within the single-payer Veterans Health Administration system. These findings suggest that structured healthcare delivery may be a critical factor in reducing racial disparities in cancer survival.
