Clinical Trial Enrollment
Fillmore and his colleagues have focused on improving the efficiency and transparency of clinical trial enrollment through the application of natural language processing. His work includes the development of tools to automate the identification of eligible oncology patients and the systematic extraction of enrollment history from unstructured electronic health records. Additionally, he has examined the reporting of participant demographics, highlighting critical gaps in the documentation of race and ethnicity that limit the generalizability of clinical research.
