Competing Risk Regression
Fillmore has employed competing risk regression to analyze how systemic biomarkers influence the probability of diverse clinical outcomes. His work demonstrates that elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratios are independently associated with an increased risk of incident dementia, while higher allostatic load predicts a greater likelihood of major adverse cardiac events in patients with prostate cancer. These studies highlight the utility of this statistical approach in quantifying the risk of specific comorbidities in the presence of other competing outcomes.
