Fillmore has examined the validity and clinical implementation of frailty screening tools used within comprehensive geriatric assessments. His work has identified significant limitations in existing scoring systems, including ceiling effects that hinder the differentiation of frailty levels in real-world oncology populations. Additionally, he has demonstrated that electronic health record-based indices can moderately correlate with clinician-led assessments to identify functional impairment at scale.
