Disease Specific Survival

Disease-specific survival is a critical metric for evaluating treatment efficacy in rare malignancies. Fillmore and his colleagues examined these outcomes in veterans with Merkel cell carcinoma to identify disparities in survival based on treatment modalities. This work provides necessary data to optimize therapeutic strategies and improve long-term prognosis for patients with this aggressive cutaneous neuroendocrine carcinoma.
