Electronic Health Records

Fillmore and his collaborators have advanced the use of electronic health records (EHR) to improve cancer care through the development of predictive models and automated data extraction tools. His work includes the creation of deep learning and transformer-based models to identify high-risk patients for pancreatic cancer and venous thromboembolism, as well as the implementation of natural language processing to recover critical diagnostic data from unstructured clinical notes. Additionally, he has validated electronic frailty indices to refine prognostic predictions and established large-scale data repositories to facilitate precision oncology research.
