Frailty

Fillmore has extensively investigated the impact of frailty on clinical outcomes and treatment selection for older adults with malignancies. His research has validated electronic frailty indices as scalable prognostic tools and demonstrated that frailty independently predicts increased mortality and hospitalization across various cancers, including multiple myeloma, melanoma, and non-small cell lung cancer. Additionally, he has examined how potentially inappropriate medications contribute to frailty and identified the limitations of existing scoring systems in real-world clinical populations.
