Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors

Fillmore has investigated the real-world effectiveness and safety of immune checkpoint inhibitors, with a particular focus on older and frail patient populations. His research includes the development of algorithmic tools to identify hepatic immune-related adverse events and the analysis of immunotherapy-associated risks, including venous thromboembolism and increased mortality during SARS-CoV-2 infection. Additionally, his work suggests that advanced age does not preclude efficacy, as older patients often exhibit biomarkers associated with a robust response to immune checkpoint blockade.
