Keratinocyte Carcinoma

Research conducted by Fillmore and his colleagues examines the epidemiological associations between cutaneous malignancies and the development of mucosal melanoma. His work identifies a history of keratinocyte carcinoma as a significant risk factor for this rare and aggressive melanoma subtype. These findings suggest a shared susceptibility or common environmental triggers that may necessitate closer surveillance in patients with a history of skin cancer.
