Melanoma Specific Survival

Fillmore has examined the determinants of melanoma-specific survival within the veteran population, identifying significant disparities in disease stage at presentation and access to staging procedures compared to the general population. His research demonstrates that moderate-to-severe frailty is a critical predictor of increased melanoma-specific mortality in patients with stage III and IV disease. Additionally, his work indicates that anti-PD-1 monotherapy provides superior melanoma-specific survival outcomes compared to BRAF/MEK inhibitors and anti-CTLA-4 therapy in this cohort.
