Murine Model

Fillmore and his collaborators have utilized murine models to investigate the metabolic drivers of cancer-associated thrombosis. His work demonstrates that high dietary tryptophan intake promotes venous thrombogenicity in colon cancer models by increasing kynurenine production. These findings indicate that the inhibition of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 can attenuate procoagulant changes in the venous wall, identifying a potential therapeutic target for the management of thrombosis in malignancy.
