Nested Case-Control Study

Fillmore has utilized nested case-control designs to identify environmental risk factors for rare malignancies within large veteran cohorts. His research demonstrates that exposure to Agent Orange is significantly associated with an increased risk of acral melanoma compared to both nonacral cutaneous melanoma and controls. These findings highlight the utility of the nested case-control approach in establishing the distinct clinical etiology of specific cancer subtypes.
