Parkinson's Disease

Fillmore and his collaborators have investigated the bidirectional association between Parkinson's disease and melanoma within a large cohort of United States veterans. His research demonstrates a significant increase in the risk of developing melanoma among patients with Parkinson's disease, while also identifying an increased hazard of Parkinson's disease in individuals with a history of melanoma. These findings suggest a complex relationship between these two conditions and highlight the importance of increased cancer surveillance for patients with Parkinson's disease.
