Potentially Inappropriate Medications

Fillmore and his collaborators have investigated the impact of potentially inappropriate medications on clinical outcomes for patients with cancer. Their research demonstrates that an increase in the use of these medications is associated with a significantly higher risk of frailty, unplanned hospitalization, and mortality. These findings suggest that screening for high-risk medications may allow clinicians to identify vulnerable patients and implement interventions to improve survival and quality of life.
