Proteomic Profiling

Proteomic profiling offers a means to identify circulating biomarkers that predict acute vascular complications in oncology patients. Fillmore and his colleagues identified a fifteen-protein panel associated with cell adhesion and coagulation that predicts the development of venous thromboembolism in patients with prostate cancer. This approach demonstrates the potential for plasma protein analysis to stratify patient risk and guide the implementation of targeted preventative monitoring.
