Rule-Based Algorithms
Fillmore has developed rule-based natural language processing algorithms to extract structured clinical data from unstructured electronic health records across diverse therapeutic areas. His work has demonstrated high precision in identifying oncology staging, prostate cancer diagnostics, and clinical trial enrollment history, as well as detecting immune-related adverse events. These tools facilitate the systematic recovery of critical patient phenotyping data to support large-scale population health research.
