Systemic Cancer Therapy

Fillmore and his collaborators have investigated the optimization of systemic cancer therapies, with a particular focus on tailoring treatment for frail and elderly patient populations. His research has demonstrated that intensive triple-drug regimens can reduce mortality in frail patients with multiple myeloma and that docetaxel rechallenge may offer superior overall survival compared to cabazitaxel in specific prostate cancer cohorts. Additionally, he has developed and validated deep learning and electronic health record models to dynamically predict the risk of cancer-associated venous thromboembolism during systemic treatment, providing a more precise alternative to traditional static risk scores.
