TNF Inhibitors

Fillmore and his collaborators have investigated the long-term systemic effects of tumor necrosis factor inhibitors in patients with inflammatory arthritis. His research indicates that these agents may provide neuroprotective benefits, as evidenced by a reduced risk of dementia and Alzheimer disease among patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Conversely, his work suggests that these therapies have not diminished the rising incidence of fractures observed in patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
