Transcriptomics

Fillmore has focused on improving the accuracy of transcriptomic analysis in non-model organisms that lack established reference genomes. He developed RSEM-EVAL, a model-based scoring system designed to evaluate the quality of de novo transcriptome assemblies from RNA-Seq data. This methodology enables more reliable gene expression profiling, as demonstrated by its application to the complex genetic landscape of the regenerating axolotl limb.
