VA Cancer Registry

Fillmore and his collaborators utilize the VA Cancer Registry to identify disparities in cancer outcomes and the impact of environmental and socioeconomic risk factors on veteran populations. His research has highlighted increased risks of melanoma associated with Agent Orange exposure and Parkinson's disease, as well as the influence of neighborhood deprivation on tumor thickness. Additionally, he has developed natural language processing tools and integrated data repositories to improve the extraction of clinical staging and diagnostic data from the registry to optimize precision oncology.
