Vitamin D Deficiency

Fillmore has investigated the prognostic significance of vitamin D deficiency in patients with multiple myeloma. His research demonstrates that low vitamin D levels predict poor overall survival in white patients regardless of disease stage or age. Conversely, this association is not observed in African American patients, suggesting that the impact of vitamin D deficiency on mortality may vary by racial group.
